In an isolated culture of smartphones, endless technology at our fingertips, and multitudes of "friends" without actual human contact, let's take a moment to step back and look at the people ... the real people in our lives. How will we start to intentionally love the people around us ... and beyond? Too often we are quick to write a check, give a handout, or perform an act of service. These "acts" are great, don't get me wrong, and faith without works is dead ... but why is it sometimes so hard to give up some of our time to just sit and listen to someone else or have a meaningful conversation? Why is it such a challenge to love the people in our lives, really love them regardless of their flaws, past wrongs, and ... all those annoying tendencies ... don't judge me ... you know what I'm talking about. God's been challenging me with this over the past couple of months, and if this challenges you as well, do something about it. Pray, journal, talk to someone else and let's start stepping up and changing the world, really living and loving as we've been called to do.
Below is a beautiful family ... friends and neighbors of ours. This was a gift for me to be able to capture some sweet moments in this season of their lives. Let's live to be a blessing to those around us. Share your time and talents and pour love into those around you.
